Information on the state of small and medium businesses development
As of October 1, 2018, there are 51,604 actors of small and medium businesses (hereinafter referred to as SMBs) in the region, which is 103.9% compared to the same period in 2017, of which 7,123 are legal entities of small business, 163 are legal entities of medium business, 38,671 are sole proprietors and 5,647 are peasant agriculture. The largest number of actors of SMBs occurs in the city of Kostanay (23,968 units), the city of Rudniy (6,364 units), Kostanay district (2,969 units), the city of Arkalyk (2,096 units), Zhetikara district (1,809 units), the town of Lisakovsk (1,570 units), Fyodorov District (1,584 units).
As of July 1, 2018, the number of employed persons in SMBs is 155,198, which is 6.6% higher than the same period last year, including 50,571 people are employed by legal entities of small businesses, and 23,926 people by legal entities of medium businesses, 70,373 people are in individual entrepreneurship, 10,328 people are in peasant agriculture (data is generated on a quarterly basis).
As of from January to June 2018, the output of actors of small and medium businesses increased over the same period in 2017 by 20.1% and amounted to KZT 328,244 million (volume index 113.2%), including legal entities of small businesses output in the amount of KZT 208,700 million, by legal entities of medium business in the amount of KZT 89,069 million, by individual entrepreneurs – KZT 26,634 million, by peasant agriculture – KZT 3,841 million (data is generated on a quarterly basis).
For eight months of 2018, branches of second-tier banks are issued loans in the amount of KZT 26,794,2 million to actors of small businesses, which is 38.8% higher than the same period last year.
The largest amount of lending in the sectoral structure is occur in trading activity – 43.6%, agriculture – 13.6% and industry – 33.1%.
The weighted average interest rate of banks on loans issued to actors of small businesses is below than the same period last year by 1.2 percentage points (13.1%).
